Updated: Feb 23, 2023

As a fellow music fan and Inhailer listener, tuning in to the weekly A List is a great way to discover new music and keep up with the latest top 10.

The A List features a mix of new releases and up-and-coming artists, spanning an inclusive variety of genres like rock, pop, indie, and alternative.

You can tune in with Nils Illokken, our Music Director, for these top 10 listens and more every Friday 11a - 3p.

Inhailer Radio broadcasts 24/7 and you can join IN, without the fuzz, from anywhere anytime here at Inhailer.com, or conveniently from our new iPhone and Android apps.

#10 “Heat” – Nuovo Testamento

80's inspired Italian disco is back baby! We want nothing more than to sweat our butt's off to this track in an Italian nightclub. Hearing it on Inhailer Radio and throwing your own dance party is the next best thing.

#9 “Find It” – Bass Drum of Death

Now this is a fun song. If this was released 15-20 years ago, it would have been a perfect addition to a Tony Hawk Pro Skater game, or maybe even the Burnout series. Their brand new record Say I Won't is out now!

#8 “The Fringe” – Cheekface

We. Love. Cheekface! As Nils likes to call their genre, "mundane-core", they're the best in the game. They just do such a good job of taking the mundane aspects of life and finding clever ways to talk about it, or poke fun. Their newest single The Fringe is no different. They may want to be the Featured Singer on an EDM song, but they still want to be on the fringe. Success is cringe!

#7 “Tisched Off” – Bartees Strange

We are big fans of Bartees Strange here! How could you not when they've put out cover EP's of The National songs? They're coming off the heels of 2022's Farm to Table with two new singles as a part of Sub Pop's Singles Series. Tisched Off sees Strange coming after his more privileged peers (tongue-in-cheek of course, but also not really)

#6 “Echolalia” – Yves Tumor

Dropping down from the #3 spot last week, Yves Tumor are still going strong on the top 10. Their new record Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds) is out 3/17 via Warp.

#5 “Blood and Butter” – Caroline Polachek

The indie-pop queen Caroline Polachek is back with her brand new record Desire, I Want to Turn Into You. Featuring an incredible mix of singles we already love, as well as more incredible and moody tunes. We couldn't get enough of the final single Blood and Butter preceding the release, which was fittingly this past Wednesday, Valentine's Day.

#4 “Leave Brian Alone” – Joey Joesph

Cincinnati star in the making (and former Pomegranates member) Joey Joesph is back with their ever unique and fun sound. Leave Brian Alone has us as stalwart defenders of Brians' everywhere.

#3 “Every Little Heart” – The Tallest Man On Earth

The Tallest Man On Earth is back, and we're not sure how this isn't bigger news! Get it... because of his incredible height. Alright, moving on! This Swedish folk artist, AKA Kristian Matsson, hasn't put out an album of original songs since 2019's I Love You, It’s a Fever Dream. This upcoming album will be the first one they've recorded with a band, as opposed to the typical DIY approach. Henry St. is out 4/14 via ANTI-

#2 “$20” – boygenius

Despite inflation, boygenius' charting song maintains at "$20" Falling shortly from their #1 spot last week, the trio of Julien Baker, Lucy Dacus and Phoebe Bridgers are still rocking the airwaves with 1/3 singles from their upcoming debut album the record out 3/31

#1 “Cowboy Nudes” – Geese

Wake up babe, there's Cowboy Nudes at #1 on Inhailer! We had to be careful Googling that one..

Brooklyn's Geese are back (not to be confused with other Inhailer favorites, Goose) with a more soulful take on their post-punk sound. No word yet when we'll be getting a follow up to their 2021 debut record Projector, but if it sounds anything like this, we're anxiously awaiting it.

The top 10 for this week has come to a close, it was fun while it lasted!

But don't tune out just yet - there's more to come next week and our listeners influence what we play, thus who makes the next A List!

Let these fresh airwaves will carry you through the weekend, until next time.
