Lucy Dacus Takes the Night Shift at the Woodward Theatre

It's been a jam packed couple of years in music for Richmond, VA based artist Lucy Dacus, and she doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon. Dacus' sophomore album, Historian released in March of 2018 received critical acclaim and secured a spot in several publications yearly "best of" lists such as Pitchfork, Consequence of Sound, and NPR. Alongside Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker, Dacus makes up 1/3 of indie super woman group Boygenius. The group toured along their debut self titled album in the fall and winter months of 2018 to sold out venues across the country. It's safe to say Lucy Dacus has become a force to be reckoned with in the industry as both a vocalist as well as songwriter.

Dacus has spent this year working on an EP that has been compiled of festive monthly singles of covers as well as an original song. She began by releasing a cover of "La Vie en Rose" in February, and has since blessed us with covers of "Dancing in the Dark" to celebrate Bruce Springsteen's 70th birthday in September, and most recently a take on eerie bop "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins. Dacus will release her full EP on November 8th with an original song titled "Fool's Gold," and rounding out the year with none other than a rendition of "Last Christmas" by Wham!

Liza Anne of Saint Simons Island, Georgia is currently joining Lucy Dacus on tour and will perform as her opener on November 5th at the Woodward Theatre.
