Founding Fathers Vinyl Release Show with Big Gorgeous and Tooth Lures A Fang

Cincinnati’s own synth-pop group, Founding Fathers, are celebrating the vinyl release of Mating Rites at the Northside Tavern on Sunday May 26, 2019. The 2018 album was the national debut for the four piece new wave group. The band is back from New York where they recently filmed the music video “Puddles” for their touring partners, the San Francisco based synth dance duo, Big Gorgeous. Founding Fathers are supporting Big Gorgeous on their ambitious spring tour playing 20 shows in 23 days throughout the Midwest and along the East Coast.

For those who recall the raucous show at the Northside Tavern that Founding Fathers played along with Iceland’s synth pop band, Berndsen last October, you’ve already been introduced to half of the Big Gorgeous duo. Young Potatoe, the theatrical vocalist, guest starred in the final song of the Berndsen set. Without giving away too many spoilers, seeing Big Gorgeous perform is like part metal theatre and part pervert pop goodness. They push many boundaries and utilize some questionable stage props in their show, but at the foundation of their over the top performance lies catchy pop songs that are so absurd you can’t help but smile when hearing them.

Big Gorgeous is coming hot off the road having made their Icelandic debut at last year’s Iceland Airwaves music festival. They are planning a debut album release in the summer of 2019.

Along with Founding Fathers and Big Gorgeous, local melodic garage rock band Tooth Lures a Fang will also be on the bill.
