Cincinnati Queer Pop Star In The Making Bershy Tunes Us Into "Radio"

Cincinnati indie pop darling Bershy is in love and she’s ready to broadcast it to the whole world. “Radio”, the latest single from the Cincinnati queer pop star drops today, October 7th, 2022. followed by a Halloween costume party on 10/29/22 at Motr Pub.

This absolute banger of a song recounts singer songwriter and producer Brea Shay’s transformation inspired by meeting her partner at a party.

“Before I got together with my partner, I was really depressed,” recalls Shay, “I hated going out or being around people. Parties were a literal nightmare. But when we met my whole outlook changed and I found myself excited about life and love. ‘Radio’ is the story of that change.”

“Radio” marks a new era for Bershy as she takes on a larger role in her own productions, preparing to launch her next EP early next year. Previously, Bershy had worked with a single producer to hone her sparse demos into full productions. During the pandemic, a new Bershy began to form, which found Shay self-producing more fully realized demos. During a live performance in late 2021, Shay was introduced to Kyle Kubiak (Modern Aquatic, Moonbeau) and Coran Stetter (Multimagic) who took an interest in helping Bershy flesh out her new songs. Upon initial sessions, the three discovered mutual adoration for acts like MUNA, Blood Orange, Caroline Rose which led to the new directional focus.

Bershy debuted “Radio” live at the Inhailer Radio 5 Year Anniversary Party at Madison Live this past June to a rabid fanbase craving more from the young artist. Along with the new single and an official music video for “Radio”, fans can celebrate the release on 10/29/22 at Motr Pub for a Halloween costume party featuring Bershy, as well as Nashville Psych-pop and current “it” band Twen and new indie rock supergroup Coast Off (featuring members of All The Day Holiday, Gold Shoes and Young Heirlooms).
