Anderson East is Bringing Alabama Blues and Soul to Madison Theater

Low Country Sound / Elektra Records

Anderson East thinks he’s in love with your girlfriend. Well, maybe not. Either way, you can hear him perform songs like his hit song ‘Girlfriend’ and more emotionally charged Americana and Southern Soul at Madison Theater in Covington, Kentucky this Friday alongside Lucie Silvas.

Michael Anderson, better known as his stage name Anderson East grew up around music in his hometown of Athens, Alabama. His grandfather was a Baptist preacher and his family typically listened to gospel music so whenever he heard any types of rock or pop, he quickly latched onto and analyzed them. He started learning guitar at age 10 and instead of learning from performing covers, he started writing his own songs at an early age. Now a successful artist with 4 albums under his belt, Anderson East received his first Grammy nomination with ‘All On My Mind’ for Best American Roots Performance off of his album from last year ‘Encore’.

Full of raw energy and personal lyrics, expect Anderson East to bring along a full band with horn section to give you a taste of the blues and Americana Friday night. Don’t just expect to hear songs from his albums, expect him to put his heart and soul into his performance, capturing the emotion from his songs and exceeding them. If you want to spend your Friday night just as sweaty and exhausted as Anderson East will be, then get to Madison Theater early and get in the pit for an emotional and exuberant ride.
