Moonbeau: Dance to Synth Throwback at MOTR

Looking to dance like you've time-warped to the '80s? MOTR will take you there with Moonbeau and the Raquels! These ‘80s synth pop bands will take you on a trip back in time with their outstanding sound and energy.

Moonbeau has played several shows recently all around Cincinnati and just booked the stage for the 2018 Bunbury Music Festival. The duo behind Moonbeau are fiances Christian Gough of The Yugos and Claire Muenchen, who are also backed up by drummer Alex Murphy-White. You may know Moonbeau as the winner of the Best Electronic Act at the 2017 Cincinnati Entertainment Awards or their exclusive Sofar Sounds session. Moonbeau has also taken the stage on Fountain Square, where they opened for nationally-renowned DJ Com Truise at the Urban Outfitters Indie Summer Concert Series.

The duo was signed to Old Flame Records and has begun recording their debut album. Recently released are the fun and rhythmic singles "Are We In Love Yet?" and "In Your Lifetime." As Cincinnati fans patiently wait for the next enlightening and upbeat tune to drop, they'll continue to spend their nights dancing and singing to their favorite '80s electronic act.

The Raquels will join Moonbeau on the MOTR stage to round out the bill. The synthesized pop-rock band from Columbus that local fans have fallen in love with are already making their mark on the synth pop scene. Taking on the new new-wave music is a group of four talented guys! You’ll find Gabe Ritz on vocals and guitar, Derrick Walter with a trio of vocals, guitar and keys, David Butler playing synth bass and keys, and Tyler Birch on the synth drums. The band has already been in Cincinnati a few times, playing Urban Artifact with other great local bands like Beloved Youth.

The Raquels recently released their debut single, “1982,” out now on Spotify and Apple Music! Their stylized and sticky sweet music video, produced by Loose Films, is an homage to the '80s - a decade that gave inspiration to today's musicians, songs, and video. According to Loose, they “partnered with The Raquels to make their vision come to life. With costumes, art direction, and concept provided by both the band and Loose, this video is the epitome of a collaboration.” Check it out here:
