PUP: BOLD PUNK-ROCK AT BOGART'S

Toronto based punk quartet PUP will be performing at Bogart’s on May 22nd ahead of their third studio album release Morbid Stuff. Morbid Stuff was released on April 5th, 2019 three years after their groundbreaking sophomore album, The Dream is Over. It’s safe to say PUP fanatics were restless for new music after the critically acclaimed 2016 studio release, and it is also safe to say that the quartet definitely did not disappoint.

Morbid Stuff stays true to the group’s roots and tackles subjects such as mental health and the oftentimes fetishisation of it that occurs throughout several media outlets today. It’s the nitty-gritty and shout-along lyrics such as “Just cause you’re sad again, it doesn’t make you special at all,’ in “Free at Last” paired with killer guitar riffs that carry their intensifying energy on throughout the rest of the record. Morbid Stuff is also the quartet’s first release under their own label, Little Dipper.

Chicago based duo Ratboys and Toronto based group Casper Skulls will be touring alongside PUP for their stop in Cincinnati. For fanatics and new listeners alike this is definitely going to be an awesome show that you do not want to miss. Still need tickets?
