October 2024 Artist of the Month: GIFT
Formed in the chaotic year of 2020 in New York City, GIFT has been in heavy rotation here at Inhailer.
Their third studio album, lluminator, was released on August 23, and frontman TJ Freda shared some thoughts on the project, saying, “The main goal was to take a big swing, embrace the pop sounds we love, and clear the mist and clouds surrounding the last record to make it a lot punchier.” Both critics and fans have praised this release, celebrating the band’s ability to evolve musically while staying true to their original sound.
Their music leans into the shoegaze genre while incorporating fresh electronic styles and elements. Illuminator resonates with a wide audience, with many songs hinting at its title – this album is about finding one's inner light and illumination.
GIFT has been touring extensively and wrapped up their U.S. shows in late September before heading off to Europe. Check out their tour dates here.
