Returning for it's second year, the Bellwether Music Festival is doubling down on a solid two days of music at the Ohio Renaissance Festival grounds in Waynesville, OH August 9th-10th. They're showcasing both familiar and fresh names, not unlike last year. While we saw 80's groups like Echo & The Bunnymen and The Psychedelic Furs in 2018, 2019 sees them moving forward a decade to score acts like Cake, Guided By Voices and Pinback.
Joining these classic bands are dream-pop group Beach House, indie blues-rockers Cold War Kids, synth-pop groups Twin Shadow and STRFKR, experimental electronic group Black Moth Super Rainbow, chill indie rockers Real Estate, rising soon to be stars Sego and Arlie, among many others. Representing Cincinnati this year are the synth-pop group returning from a recent hiatus MULTIMAGIC and the neo-folk Young Heirlooms.
This year is slated to involve the Renaissance Fest fairgrounds more, which could lead to one of the most unique and exciting festivals in the midwest. 2018 saw it mainly being used for the general store for camper's and the late night after parties on a permanent structure pirate ship stage with a bar with an extensive draft lift nearby. 2019 will include that plus Rock N' Roll Jousting and hopefully more inside during the day.
