Your Astro INHAIL: August Horoscope

Alright, facts are facts, and the last month has been bad. With so many planets in retrograde, it has been a whirlwind of healing past traumas, dodging mixed signals, and dealing with what to do with your passions. Leo season is in full swing and this perfect storm of astrological nightmares is the best time to take on Leo’s confident, take-no-prisoners attitude. Be confident in your ability to weather the storm and to take the lessons in stride this month. And if all else fails, just hold out ‘til the 19th when Mercury goes out of retrograde.

Leo (July 23 - August 22): It’s your zodiac new year so take full advantage of it, but I probably didn’t have to tell you that. Although most may see the many retrograde as a set back, don’t let it rain on your parade. Take this time to gain some new perspective. Mercury will be in retrograde for the majority of your season, so while you may be feeling your most confident Leo oats, use the retrograde to stay mindful to how you communicate with those around you.

Song of the Month: “Lets Relate” by of Montreal. Take the time to get to know those around you and how you can best communicate with them

Virgo (August 23 - September 22): With the Chiron retrograde just starting out, it may be particularly hard for you right now to accept the lessons coming to you. It’s going to be a long ride as Chiron won’t be going direct until December 9th. Focus your signature workhorse nature inward and stay dedicated to the task of healing. Look forward to your Zodiac new year later this month and be ready to put in the work to elevate yourself this year. Song of the Month: “Secret Heart” by Feist. Take a look at your secret heart, what is going on beneath the surface that you could let go of

Libra (September 23 - October 22): Mercury retrograde may be exacerbating your tendency to procrastinate on decisions but that’s okay. With Jupiter finally going direct at the end of last month some of the fog may begin to clear and a conclusion will appear on the horizon.

Song of the Month: “Know What I Want” by Kali Uchis. Hopefully, you will know what you want when one door opens and another closes.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21): Your ruling planet enters Capricorn this month, giving you a particular urge to kickstart your passions. Although you may find it hard to know where to start on a new project, make sure you don’t let the fire peter out. Use that motivation to perfect your craft, whatever that may be.

Song of the Month: “Dr. Worm” by They Might Be Giants. Like Dr. Worm, you can get better at the drums, or anything!

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21): Like Virgo and Gemini, you may be taking the Chiron retrograde especially hard and past issues of self doubt and self worth may be weighing heavily on you. Take comfort in knowing some of the indecisiveness and clouded mind that’s been plaguing you will be clearing, giving you a full perspective on what must be done next.

Song of the Month: “Boyish” by Japanese Breakfast. Michelle Zauner perfectly captures the languid melancholy of doubt

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19): Mars enters your sign this month, which should help you channel any uneasy feelings into a force for good to push you forward. For now, focus on your career without intention of advancing but with the intention of putting in solid work.

Song of the Month: “9-5” by Dolly Parton. The true working person’s anthem! Stay focused and work hard, but try not to let it drive you crazy

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18): Uranus, your ruling planet, goes retrograde on the 7th. Your creative energies may feel at a standstill. It may be easy to linger over old projects and obsess over past mistakes. Try your best to move forward and count on Mars going direct to fire your passions up again.

Song of the Month: “Past and Pending” by the Shins. Don’t linger in the past, as much as you may want to.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20): This month may be particularly difficult for any projects you may be working on. It may seem particularly hard to grasp onto your muse this month, but the creative process isn’t always just creating. Use this time to soak in the world around you and get in touch with your roots.

Song of the Month: “Soak Up The Sun” by Sheryl Crow. Take some time to chill, early-2000s-beach-style.

Aries (March 21 - April 19): You may not be feeling quite yourself this month. It may be time take a step back and try to see things from an outside perspective. Take the focus off of your next conquest and place it at your own foundation.

Song of the Month: “Warping” by Death Grips. You may be feeling out of sorts and chaotic this month.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20): It may be time to take a pause from moving forward and evaluate the work you’ve done so far. Look back with your typical grounded and practical views. Be sure to take a look at the present as well. Be as direct with those around you and direct with yourself about how you feel.

Song of the Month: “Sense, Sensibility” by AJJ. Strive for earnesty and clarity as you look inward.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20): Both the Mercury retrograde and the Chiron retrograde will be affecting your sign heavily, maybe even working together to make it harder to find the root of the issues you may be dealing with. As a result this month may be particularly hard on you. Try to take advantage of the Leo season self-assuredness and steer clear of any self doubt plaguing you.

Song of the Month: “I Like Giants” by Kimya Dawson. You need Kimya’s positive outlook and assuredness in the face of self-doubt.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22): Your zodiac new year has started out with a jolt, to say the least. Stay open to the lessons of the year. As a natural nurturer, it may be easy to get caught up helping to heal right now. Make sure to stay balanced and resolute in the goals you set for yourself this year.

Song of the Month: “New Person, Same Old Mistakes” by Tame Impala. It’s your new year and you may feel brand new but be wary of making the same mistakes this year.
