Your Astro INHAIL: July Horoscope

New this month: tOo mAnY fEeLs

This month is going to be an emotional roller coaster, so strap in. With the Sun in Cancer, it’s a time to examine your feelings and close relationships. Cancer's season is really the time get emotional and gushy. Make sure those around you know you love them and cherish this time. Chiron, known as the wounded healer and representing our emotional wounds, goes retrograde July 5. Be prepared to examine trauma you may have thought was healed. You’ll be well equipped with all the introspection going on with Sun in Cancer.

Chiron isn’t the only one going retrograde. Mercury goes retrograde on July 25 and won’t be direct until August 17. WHEW. If you’re not familiar, Mercury is the ruler of communication. Mercury retrograde wreaks havoc on our ability to communicate and make clear decisions. Be aware and be thoughtful about any decisions you make while Mercury is in retrograde. Since it also will coincide with when the Sun enters Leo, that Leo hubris may lead you to think you know what you’re doing, but CHILL and really think about your decisions.

The song for the mood of the month is “The Seasons/Carry Me” by Anderson .Paak. It’s an emotional track about the gratefulness you may feel to your mother and the nostalgic memories that are the foundation of who you are today. Cancers love their mamas and love their family, and their emotions pour out like a thunderstorm.

Cancer (June 21-July 22): The sun is in your sign and it’s your time to get down to the truth of who you are. Cancers get a bad rap for being overly emotional, but that’s not always a bad thing. Take the time this month to use your caring nature on yourself. With Chiron going retrograde this month, the bringing up of old wounds may be hard but with the Sun giving us the best of Cancer, stay confident in your ability to heal.

Song of the Month: “Heartbreaks + Setbacks” by Thundercat is a great song about some of the trials you may be feeling as old problems resurface, but keep hope that there is time to move past your issues and a chance for love.

Leo (July 23-August 22): Cancer season gets us all in our feels, but that might be good for you, Leo. Use this time to soften up. Although Leos are confident leaders, it sometimes comes at cost. Leos oftentimes build up a cool exterior so they can always appear in control. With Chiron going retrograde and the Sun in Cancer, crack through that shell and expose your emotions. Growth cannot happen without breaking out and allowing yourself to feel AND be strong (you can do it at the same time, Leo, I swear.)

Song of the Month: “Boys Don’t Cry” by the Cure is the perfect song for your Leo’s tendency to ‘cover it all up with lies.’ You need to stay humble, recognize your own flaws and cry it out if you have to!

Virgo (August 23-September 22): You may be feeling the emotional swells of Cancer, but it may not seep too far into your love life. Venus enters your sign on the 9th, lending your logic and detail oriented nature to your love life. For most of the month, feel confident in your decisions regarding your relationships that you’re not being swept up in Cancer’s emotions but relying on Virgo’s well-planned decision making.

Song of the Month: “New Rules” by Dua Lipa represents the resoluteness you’ll need when dealing with what Chiron brings up. Have a plan and stick to it!

Libra (September 23-October 22): Libra, there’s a lot happening this month and it may be hard to keep your signature balance and peace. Chiron is bringing up old emotions and Mercury may make talking about these feelings difficult. With the combination of all these things and the amplification of feeling Cancer brings, it’s okay to feel off kilter. Stay focused more on the abstract philosophy and logic as Jupiter goes direct to balance everything out.

Song of the Month: “Warping” by Death Grips may explain how you may be feeling pulled in all different directions try not to lose your form and stay above the chaos.

Scorpio (October 23-November 21): Like Cancers, Scorpios are water signs and will relish in the emotional freedom of the season. Since Scorpios tend to show their emotions with a little more bite than a Cancer, they certainly can benefit from the nurturing and familial energy of the Cancer crab. Scorpios emotions tend to show when they’re upset, but this time around Scorpio’s emotions don’t have to be intenseley hot or cold but a balanced warmth.

Song of the Month: “Cranes in the Sky” by Solange shows how hard it can be to run away from your problems and bury them in your everyday life. It’s important to feel the pain to be able to fully heal.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21): You will be having a very thoughtful month, Sagittarius. Jupiter, your ruling planet, goes direct in Scorpio and will force you to think big and think ahead. As Chiron goes retrograde this month, connect your deep thinking to your emotions to truly heal any residual anger you may have.

Song of the Month: “The Worst” by Jhnene Aiko is about grappling with a bad relationship but gaining clarity and knowing your worth. Be prepared to close the chapter on the wounds brought up this month.

Capricorn (December 22-January 19): In typical Capricorn fashion, as Chiron attempts to dredge up old wounds, you may feel the need to set them to the side and keep moving forward. Don’t underestimate the strength of Cancer season to tug at your heartstrings. Treat yourself with kindness and allow yourself time to slow down tend to yourself.

Song of the Month: “Extraordinary Machine” by Fiona Apple shows Apple praising herself and knowing where she stands. Treat yourself well and appreciate what skills you have to get you through this tough time.

Aquarius (January 20 to February 18): Aquarius, you’re a creative sign; Jupiter going direct may have your thinking and creativity in overdrive. One place you will want to be careful not to overthink is your love life. With Venus entering Virgo, moves made in your love life will need to be well thought out and direct, especially with an impending Mercury retrograde at the end of the month.

Song of the Month: “Shut up Kiss Me” by Angel Olsen is about as direct as you can be with your love life and that’s what you need this month!

Pisces (February 19 to March 20): With the Sun in a fellow water sign, you may be feeling particularly creative and enlightened about yourself. While feeling the reflections of the other water signs this is a good time to deal with Chiron’s healing wounds. Because you’re feeling more power as a healing water sign, the process of dealing with old emotions may be smoother and overall more positive experience.

Song of the Month: “Nights” by Frank Ocean is about dealing with thing popping up from a past life, but having the growth and perspective to wish them well and move on with your own life

Aries (March 21-April 19): You may be feeling your passions dampened by the the overall aura of your opposite, a water sign. With Chiron going retrograde in Aries, questions of self worth and self doubt may be trailing you this month. Try not to fight the nurturing nature of the Cancer spirit but lean into it. Go with the flow and let it lead you to a healing place.

Song of the Month: “Baby Bitch” by Ween is about the reemergence of bad love but the inner strength in your current love life to see it for what it was.

Taurus (April 20-May 20): With Venus entering Virgo, a.k.a. the ruler of your sign entering another earth sign, you may be feeling particularly stable and grounded in your love life. Past traumas may try to shake you, but stay rooted, logical, and prepared and you’ll push forward to new depths in your relationship.

Song of the Month: “Complicated” by Avril Lavigne is an anthem as far as staying in touch with your roots and cutting through the complicated facade love can create. It’s an oldie but undeniably a CLASSIC.

Gemini (May 21-June 20): This is the first month of your zodiac new year and a lot is happening to set the tone of the year. Chiron in retrograde and Sun in Cancer sets the tone of a year of introspection. On the eave of Mercury retrograde, take advantage of Venus in Virgo and get your relationships steady and grounded before things become too unclear.

Song of the Month: “So Many Details” by Toro y Moi embodies the details of your love life with Virgo in Venus. You’ll have to figure these out before Mercury goes in retrograde and all becomes unclear.
