Live On Short Vine: A Street Party With Local Talent

Live your best life at Live on Short Vine! The local music festival will be back again this spring highlighting some of the best Cincinnati up-and-coming acts. The one-day festival will be taking over some classic Short Vine spots with local music all night. The event is put on by University of Cincinnati’s broadcasting team, Bearcast Media. The folks at Bearcast have been putting on Live on Short Vine since 2015 and will be going strong this year with an amazing lineup:

The event starts out with local surf rock/new wave outfit Blue Chairs at Hang Over Easy at 5:00 PM. Hang Over Easy will be hosting a new local band every hour until their 9:00 closing with Carriers. Carriers' performance at Hang Over Easy will be one of the final stops on their recent three-week tour.

Roll into Mio’s for some classic deep dish served up alongside Dayton’s own GrandAce at 8:30 PM. GrandAce promises some chill hip-hop reminiscent of Childish Gambino or Chance the Rapper at their most laid back. Keeping the hip-hop feel through to the end, Audley’s 90’s influenced hip-hop promises to shut Mio’s down with a high energy set grounded with early Kanye-feeling beats.

In The Pines will performing at 8:45 in Taste of Belgium; don’t miss their psychedelic indie rock that’s at times infectiously danceable, and dark and heavy at others. Taste of Belgium will be closing up shop with a sweet taste of electronic pop with Moonbeau. The truly dynamic duo, who will also be making an appearance at Bunbury this summer, promises a lively performance of their '80s synth-wave inspired dream pop.

The festival will be housing its later sets at Dive Bar. Be sure to grab your drink in time for Lipstick Fiction. The self-proclaimed shortest band in Cincinnati will be performing their melodic punk tunes at 9:30. Last, but certainly not least, Sylmar will be closing out Live on Short Vine with their midnight set at Dive Bar. The jazzy post-rock group recently made a return to the Cincinnati scene from short break to focus on writing. Hopefully their set at Live on Short Vine is a precursor to an eventful summer.

All in all, Live on Short Vine is shaping up to be one of the most exciting local music events of the season. Some of the best local bands will be taking over Short Vine, so make sure you don’t miss out on the festivities!
