Murder By Death: Roots Rock at Southgate House Revival

Emerging from Bloomington, Indiana, nearly 16 years ago, the lyrics and sound of the four-piece Murder By Death prove the saying, "the older, the wiser." Self-identifying as rock, indie, and Americana, Murder by Death root themselves in poetry and playful musicianship. Their experimental, individual parts come together delicately yet powerfully enough to really pierce a crowd.

Murder By Death is frontman Adam Turla, cellist and keyboardist Sarah Balliet, Dagan Thogerson on drums and auxiliary percussion, bassist Matt Armstrong, and David Fountain on everything else: piano, percussion, mandolin, banjo, and backup vocals. Together, their sound reflects a deep influence in alternative country and roots rock. Their most recent album, "Bitter Drink, Bitter Moon," reached 76 on the Billboard 200.

Murder By Death is a band with a wide range of fans. If you love bluegrass, indie, roots, country, or folk, we recommend you check them out. With an array of musical instruments entertaining audiences and an electric stage presence, this not a show to miss!
