Summer of 2014 I believe. I was rolling on my bike back into town after visiting Lunken airport to see a solar powered plane, and started hearing music louder and louder, and it was Billy Idol filling OTR with music, performing at the outdoor stage at the casino. That was awesome
That's one of the things that most impressed me about 97X, woxy.com. If the DJ didn't like a song or band being played, they didn't pretend they did. It always made their opinions a whole lot more worthwhile.
Both of those, Regina Spektor, and the "trilogy" from the Beatles Abby Road. I'm honestly suuuuuuper glad I had a meeting during Street Spirit because I would have been a whole mess over it.
Brian was one of the unsung heroes of the famous Day In Eden...Wailing Souls was insisting on HOT tea on a typical hot day in Cincy. We sent Brian pedaling all over Mt Adams looking for hot tea!
I know one thing. I am no longer able to do the Goody Two Shoes dance that my bestie and I made up in high school. (but I still managed a modified version for old legs)
And if I had selected the tunes myself, a song like "White Wedding" wouldn't be here, but that's why I am glad I didn't. The station's history is bigger than my experience there.
True. I'm loving hearing those old recordings. I'm surprised how many I remember so well that I know what's coming as soon as I hear the first few notes. Also hearing from the DJs about concerts that I was at back in the 80's.
I had a feeling that he would pop up after Bjork! I love that they seem to be matching djs with their favorite songs. I'm guessing that Babs will show up with Dulli!
The mix of DJ stories, old ads and promos and music is just perfect. This is really well put together. I can't imagine the number of hours it took to coordinate this.
Dave Tellmann's son Jack is the unsung/unheard hero of this event - he's an engineer at a recording studio in Nashville and he spent countless hours stitching together the lovely tapestry of 30+ DJs (all recorded in different locations), old ads and promos, and 500 songs. He's making his old man super-proud and he's making all of us very happy. Kudos to Jack.
Feeling transported back to the late 90s and my first exposure to WOXY. Nostalgia in large quantities is dangerous; this little dosage should do my soul a bit of good. Thanks Inhailer
Hey everyone! I missed yesterday, but I'm tuned in today, and man this hits me in the feels. This may have been posted elsewhere, but is there a rundown of when in the countdown each DJ will be "on air?"
I've heard it will, and I've heard maybe not. I'm sure somebody is recording it... getting your hands on a copy on the otherhand might be another matter altogether if you recall the A-X fiasco.
To me, Black Metallic is one of those quintessentially 97x songs.
The old segments from today are giving me ideas for my own show 👀. Hope you all are enjoying INHAILER Radio as well 😤
I'm bored at work, so I'm now "driving" around Oxford on google maps listening to 97X.
What a time to be alive!
Can't imagine two styles more different than NIN and Johnny Cash, yet I love both versions of this song.
Boy do I wish AIR would make more music, together
The time capsule for 1997X is greaaaaaaat!
Band of Horses makes an appearance. One of their songs that does not sound like America.
This is getting me ready for a show in a few weeks!

Unpopular opinion. I hate this R.E.M. song.

R.E.M. alert. Paging Pete Riddle, paging Pete Riddle.
I agree about Radiohead! At least the awesomeness of Placebo and David Bowie make up for it.
RADIOHEAD SHOTS FIRED
Placebo - Pure Morning...earlier Tool - Schism...slainte
All the feels! This Placebo song makes me think of pathogen.b, who passed away last year. We bonded over our love for this album! 🥺❤️
I think about JSpaceman anytime I hear street spirit fade out. Or Spiritualized Ladies and Gentlemen We are Floating in Space. RIP
A-A-A-A
Baggy full of doo-doo!!!! Woooooow!!!
These BPMs kicked in at the perfect time of the work day!
Prodigy
Fatboy Slim
How many songs on the countdown are about arson? The City Sleeps, Firestarter and....
There's No Other Way - lyrics are . . . repetitive.
Alright, who's who?
This is how many people have tuned in since the start on Monday! With a peak of almost 800 people listening at once today!
Brian Ewing!!
This Tones On Tail track will NEVER NOT slap.
Great intro to this cover of "Black Steel!"
The official summer kickoff is the MR500 btw
Get out your flannel. "Grunge fever" has entered the 500.
I know one thing. I am no longer able to do the Goody Two Shoes dance that my bestie and I made up in high school. (but I still managed a modified version for old legs)
Starting to feel like the U2 500.
I always thought he sang "The western town of Dennenwald." It was only last year when I realized it was "west end town a dead end world."
PSB!
You and me both Mike.
MIKE!!!
Will this be properly played or just the first part...that's the question :-D
It's definitely more of a 97X Modern Rock 500 than a woxy.com 500.
I forgot how much Tori Amos sounds like same-era Over-the-Rhine.
Everybody dance!!!!
Shhhhhhhhh.
Patiently (not) waiting for my band to debut.
Ranking songs off Boxer (2007) when the last MR 500 was in 2009? That is a tough call.
How does it feel liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiike
You know what this is missing? The sounds of indy cars racing, the "vroom, vroom" that they would play when they were doing the 500 back in the day.
Place your bets on the highest-ranking National song! I'm torn between Bloodbuzz Ohio and Mr. November.
Talk about song lyrics that hit differently today….
Won’t it be strange when we’re all fully grown?
STEAD!!!!!
My Favorite Game on my favorite radio station. "Into the 'my' portion of the show" - (excerpt from the A-X countdown)
My first polite WTF moment for song placement. "Nothing Compares 2 U" in the 300s.
Babs! ❤️
This era of The Police holds up so well. Just an amazing confluence of talent.
Duran Duran! Michella is a happy listener!
And now I dance!
Tom Tom Club so far ahead of their time that Genius of Love STILL sounds on point.
Welp, I guess YouTube really does have everything after all. My first and only Smashing Pumpkins show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWPME548JwI
I totally forgot how good early smashing pumpkins is. "who wants that honey...."
Hearing The Waterboys is making me cry happy tears.

Eeeeeeemotionaaaaaal!
F*cked around and forgot how amazing this Silversun Pickups track is. Jeeeeeebus.
"You had me at Rockpile." That line should be on a t-shirt. Rowdy Rob doing Rowdy Rob things. :)
"Were celebrating The Future of Rock & Roll by playing a bunch of really old songs."
🤣🤣🤣
The Shins & Marcy Playground... BAM!
There she waaaaaas....
Love hearing these old Eavy's Grocery ads. 💥
The mix of DJ stories, old ads and promos and music is just perfect. This is really well put together. I can't imagine the number of hours it took to coordinate this.
Laps 387 to 375 is a nugget of pure early 90s gold, and we still have 20 minutes left to go!?
My current co-workers think I'm nuts. Air drums and head-bobbing with Live!
Loving the step back in time! Had to download the mobile app so I can carry this with me through the day.......
Magic number!
First appearance by U2?
Feeling transported back to the late 90s and my first exposure to WOXY. Nostalgia in large quantities is dangerous; this little dosage should do my soul a bit of good. Thanks Inhailer
Man, that Unkown Member guy posts a lot!
Hey everyone! I missed yesterday, but I'm tuned in today, and man this hits me in the feels. This may have been posted elsewhere, but is there a rundown of when in the countdown each DJ will be "on air?"
Make a little birdhouse in your soul.
I am really enjoying Ali Castellini whenever she makes an appearance!

I just recently got a Toad CD from "Rumblings from the Big Bush"
It's a 90s party this morning. My favorite TTWS song!
