Coming off the high of the Modern Rock 500 over the last week and holiday weekend, I wanted to shout out how great Inhailer Radio is for me. Your normal programming is exactly what I listen to, Today's Indie/ALT Now on Spotify and Sirius XMU/First Wave. The great thing is that you mix the new with classic modern rock, AND showcase local artists. Inhailer is the best of all those worlds and you play new music the other guys are not playing.
This station has some serious momentum and hopefully will retain a good percentage of those listeners it gained from all the work put into bringing back the MR500. I really just want to see you folks gain some big sponsors/advertisers so that this station can stay vibrant and grow. We are also super luck to have access to the 90.9 HD3 station here in Cincy to listen on an actual radio station. Oh, and how cool is it that you can make requests for songs online and in the app and they usually play in like 10-15 minutes!?
Wish list/comment box(once more revenue is coming in):
I wish the Inhailer Radio app would work on Android Auto, but that may be a whole can of worms as far as cost and craziness
I wish the sound quality was a bit better on 90.9 HD3 and could show the song information, but again, I'm sure that may be crazy as well
Bottom line, you folks are hitting it out of the park. We just need more people to know how great Inhailer Radio is! Thank you!
They need a "Bam!" tagline of their own. I keep thinking about starting a Bam! thread for songs that come on that I'm jamming to. I want to drop a Bam! every now and again you know?
Really digging this station. Would never have heard about it if it weren't for the MR500 (FWIW, I was also "Luyseyal" on the WOXY boards). Good luck with the underwriting! Leverage some PT "sales" people on commission. Do a pledge drive. Do whacky local events to get listeners out in front of underwriters and bands alike. Run PSA's for large non-profits and just ask for a plug in their employee and member newsletters. Etc. Best, Stephen in Austin, Texas
this hollywood baby 100 gecs rocks!
oh I like this angelo de augustine the ballad of beatty and barney hill
You don't necessarily need the Inhailer app to be Android Auto compatible in order to use that functionality. There are other apps that are and allow you to subscribe to and stream radio stations. The one I use is Podcast Republic and while it's main use is for podcasts you can also subscribe and listen to streaming radio. I use it to listen to radio (KCMP The Current, KEXP, KCRW) as much or more than podcasts.
A couple of notes, first I paid for an ad-free version of the app a long time ago; it was a one time payment and cheap like $5 or $6 but I do not know what the pricing structure is now.
Second, I don't actually use the Android Auto functionality to listen to radio stations, just podcasts. My car radio is HD radio capable so I am able to listen on WGUC-HD3. I don't know if streaming radio stations works with Android Auto and if so how reliable it is.
If it does work, even for HD radio capable cars streaming the station through an Android Auto compatible app might be better depending on your wireless provider and their coverage. An HD radio signal is like HD tv, the signal doesn't travel as far and is more subject to interference from buildings and topography and when there is interference it will just cut out rather than get static-y and fade. I am a T-Mobile subscriber with a 5G phone so theoretically with a strong, stable 5G signal I shouldn't have issues
I wondered about Android Auto as well. I wonder what that entails?
I will second all the positive comments above. I think it's great and I can't think of any improvement suggestions at this time. Thanks to you all!
