Kicking off May 31st, Over the Rhine will be home to the 14 day long Cincy Fringe Festival. Over those 14 days, theatres, galleries, and other businesses in the area will host over 200 live performances, art installations, and events.
Along side the 30-40 productions in the Primary Lineup, the festival also highlights the growing talent of the city’s many high school students in the Fringe Next series. In this series, all of the shows are written, produced, directed, and preformed by local high school aged artists.
Other theatre based productions offered are artist led master classes, True Theatre’s trueFringe storytelling, and a performance from the city’s foremost imporv group, OTRimprov.
But Cincy Fringe Doesn’t Just stay in the theatre. With collaboration from local visual artists, musicians, and organizations, Fringe offers galleries at the AAC, roaming portrait studios, and, with the help of Art on the Streets Cincinnati, street performances throughout the neighborhood.
Each day will conclude with the Fringe Bar series, an after party at the Fringe HQ in the Know Theatre on Jackson St. Each night features a different theme, fun activities, and opportunities to enjoy a few drinks and mingle with local artists and other fans of the city’s art scene.
No matter what type of artistic endeavor intrigues you, there will be plenty of fun and exciting events to experience what Cincinnati has to offer.
